There is something about Lemon Cake that just says "Summertime!" I had a lemon cake craving this morning. So, I called Nora at 8:45 to find out what the lemon cake she had made before was. Let me be clear, there are only about three people I would call at that hour, especially when it's a food question. She told me it was Barefoot Contessa's recipe, so I looked it up on line. And it does not disappoint. Other than calling for what seemed like 47 lemons it was a fairly simple cake to make. Thank god for my Pampered Chef "Citrus Press." (Nora, that plug's for you!)
Tyson had been waiting by the oven for this cake to finish. He didn't understand why were taking some to our next door neighbors. I explained that we (the 4 of us) did not need to eat two whole lemon cakes and that is was a nice thing to do. He reluctantly agreed.
He doesn't always dine shirtless, however we were at the pool
again today and he's been hot ever since we got home. He told me this cake was his favorite one for this week.
This is the only cake I've baked this week.

OMGosh! That sounds so good! My momma loves lemon cake. I'll have to make her one when I go see her next week!
