Two Peas........

Anyone that knows my husband knows that physical activity is an important part of his life.  And NOTHING gives him more pleasure than to engage in exercise and physical activity with his family, especially his kiddos.  Paul loves to ride his bicycle and he is looking forward to long family rides.  Sunday Tyson and Paul went out on a two mile bike ride.  I had to snap some pictures!

I think this is just the beginning.........

New Wheels

We got Tyson a new bike for his birthday.  It took him all of five minutes to get comfortable on it and adjust to the hand brakes.  Now he's a riding machine.

 Two things about this picture:  First, look at that hand!  What happened to my little Tyson's chubby hand?  Who's "manhand" is that?  Second:  See the orange thing.  It's a GPS that he mounted on to his handle bars.  Just like his Daddy.  You can't just leave things alone.  You have to add stuff, mess with things, tweak them.  When I asked, "why do you need a GPS?" He informed me that it had a compass on it and I didn't want him to get lost, right? 

I sure love my 8 year old!

Theatre Family Date

We took the kids to the Oklahoma Children's Theatre to see the production of "Miss Nelson is Missing."  That happens to be one of my favorite childhood books and I had bought the book for Tyson years ago.  We read it to Em just last year.  It had been a while since I had taken the kids to a play......I think the last one might have been  "If you Give a Mouse a Cookie....."  It was time for another one.  This one was on the campus of Oklahoma City University.  And the kids were not disappointed.  They laughed and loved every minute of it.

 The campus was really pretty so we took advantage of some photo opps.

 The Henson family met us there.  The play was a little above Savannah's head but I think she enjoyed it.

After the show the kids wanted to meet the actors and get their "autograph" on their programs.

A Very Special Mile

I had another one of those "proud Mommy" moments today.  Tyson ran his first mile run today.  It was the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon and he ran the kid's race.  Over the last two months we have been tracking Tyson's running.  Each child was supposed to log a total of 25 miles on their own and run the last mile on race day and then receive their medal.  At first Tyson was all ready for the run but as it grew closer he got nervous and was afraid he wouldn't be able to run the whole thing.  Paul and I knew  hecould.  This morning we were a team and I assured him he could do it. 

He looks so old.  He wanted to wear a short sleeved CT tee and his was long sleeve, so he wore mine.

It was an early morning!  We were downtown by 7 am.

Yay Buddy!  His first running medal.  He was so proud of himself and already wants to do another run.  I totally enjoyed running with my Buddy, next up a 5K together.

Hunting for Eggs

This was our second year to participate in the neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt.  The kids had a great time as expected.  They seemed to struggle with the "12 egg limit" set by the HOA to make sure everyone got eggs in their basket. 

This picture is funny for a few reasons.  Since I helped with the set-up of the Easter Egg Hunt my kids got there early.......so early that they were in the parking lot when the Easter Bunny pulled up in his white  Honda Civic.  Tyson leaned over to Paul and whispered, "I think the Easter Bunny is Lance (our neighbor)."  Paul asked, "why do you think that Buddy?"  Tyson quickly responds with well.....that's what Lance drives and he has on flip flops....Lance always wears flip flops."  So wise.

This is the look of an almost 8 year old who just found an egg with $5 in it!

 Suddenly my Emmy seems so tall.
