Another Pre-K Graduation.......

Emerson has successfully completed her first year at a "big kid" elementary school.  She attended Cross Timbers Elementary as a Pre-K student everyday for 3 hours.

When the school year started she could barely write her name in all capital letters and could count only to 20.....not to mention she could not fix herself a snack.  NOW my Emmy can write her first and last name with proper capitalization  and can count all the way to 100 and read short books. She has also become quite independent.  She pours her own water and can prepare her own snack and likes to do things for herself.

Yep, that's right!  My little punkin is ready for kindergarten!

Tea Party

Last Saturday Emerson went to her friend Kelsey's birthday party.  I should mention it was a tea party and the invitation said to "dress-up."  I cannot tell you how excited Em was to don her most favorite "dress-up" attire, complete with plastic heals and a feather boa.

Now prepare to be blown away by some serious girlee cuteness!

 Note the heals.....

You cannot attend a tea party with out the proper hat.

Look at these girls!!!!  They were so stinkin cute and so accessorized, it was ridiculous!  I was just so glad I brought my camera.

Christmas parties all around

Lucky for me the kids class parties seem to fall on opposite days.  Which is good since I seem to keep volunteering to bring treats to both parties.  This way I can attend each one.  Friday was Tyson's and Em's was today.  Tyson's party consisted of a book exchange game, a craft and a plate FULL of sweets.  Em's began with songs performed by the class then finished up with a another plate FULL of goodies.

It's tough when you're the sibling, fortunately we brought extra snacks to keep these two cute blonds busy.

 Tyson LOVES Ms. Moore!

Check out the big guy next to her.  I couldn't help it, I had to.

So glad Paul came home early so he could make her party and see her perform.

These kiddos are ready to start their Christmas break!  Last day is tomorrow.

"Harvest" is the new Halloween

Apparently schools no longer have Halloween parties, they just call it a "Harvest Party."  And in pre-K that translates to a performance by the class followed by snacks.  Fortunately Paul and I were both able to attend.  There is nothing cuter than watching 16 little four year old's sing a bunch of songs combined with dance motions.

Hope everyone has a spOOky Harvest!

Too cool for back to school!

As I got the kids ready for bed Thursday night I couldn't help but wonder how could summer be over already. June, July and August literally flew by. While I was ready for the kids to go back to school, at the same time I was also sad that they both would be going every day.
They had been a little reluctant to start school up until "Information Day" last Wednesday. After that the excitement began. Tyson was pumped to start school again and see all of his friends.

A little brain food to start the day off, two berry muffins with a banana and some apple juice.

More brain food, one chocolate chip waffle with some strawberries.

My baby sportin her new backpack. It's almost bigger than her. At this point she was still happy and the tears hadn't started yet. More about that later, Emerson's emotions deserve it's own post.

Once again I look at my family and feel pretty lucky!
