Just when I thought it was safe..........

This is the "ski clothes" bin.  Notice how it's all nicely packed and well organized. Looks ready to take on our ski trip next week.

Well the Oklahoma weather had other plans and it didn't really care that I was already beginning my vacation packing. It started snowing around 9 this morning and didn't really let up till about 4:00.  Being the "cool mom" that I am, I checked the kids out early around noon so they could come home and enjoy it.  Actually I was already up at the school subbing just till 12.  I made the executive decision to take them home with me so they could play.  Tyson told me "I was the best mom ever," until I told him he had to come in from the snow and read for 45 minutes.

Tyson has a new friend named Cash that recently moved into the neighborhood.  He came over to play in the snow too.  Tyson was looking for someone to have a snowball fight with.

These two managed to push the snow into big boulder like balls to play on.

Yay for February snow and yay for a snow day, well..........according to mom.

Quick weekend trip

Our good friends and special ex-neighboors invited us to their son's wedding in Ft. Worth.  We couldn't pass up an opportunity to see Cathy and Dave.  The kids were super excited to see them.  We headed out right after school on Friday and made it to the Metrolpex around 8:30 that night.  It was a quick short weekend there but we had a great time and it was so nice to visit our friends.  And my kids love an chance to get dressed up.

 Em and Savannah.........such pretty girls!

It's nice to get dressed up every once and a while!

Wonder where she gets this "hand on the hip" pose?

They were so happy to see their Cathy!

And Cathy was SO HAPPY to see all of her kiddos!

All of the kids were so well behaved, I was proud of all four of them!  Thanks Cathy for including us.

Pumpkin carving 101

Carving the pumpkin is always a big deal around here.  Em and I chose two really BIG pumpkins this year.  We felt Paul was up to the challenge. It was a beautiful fall evening, we even had the fire pit going and roasted marshmallows for s'mores after.

Em did NOT mind getting her hands a little dirty!

neither did he.....

The finished jack-o-lanterns!!!!  Em told her Daddy she "really wanted hers to have heart shaped eyes."  He did a great job for free handing it!!!!

Orr Family Farm

The Lucas family "master calender" was quickly filling up so we knew we needed to plan our annual pumpkin patch trip pretty soon.  It worked out that the weather was fall fantastic over the kid's fall break.  Paul took a couple days to be with the family too.

It seemed like a perfect day to check out Orr Family Farm...........after we took some pics in front of my fall porch decor.

They had a petting zoo that was so stinkin cute complete with a pretend cow for milking.

The kids did inform us that they would like to live on a farm.  Perfect.

This place was so much fun.  They had giant jumping pillows, pedal cars, mazes, HUGE slides, a carousel and of course a hay ride.  Our friends the Robin, Avery and Gavin met us out there.

 jumping pillows

 pedal cars of all sizes

 Tyson and his pal Avery

We took a hayride to the pumpkin patch to pick our little pumpkins.

These were the tallest slides.......even I got in on these!

They had a whole  section of pink pumpkins in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Em and I liked these!

Orr Family was pretty special........maybe even neater than Hill Country Pumpkin Patch in Medina, Texas.
