Belmont Bullfrogs

This is the first year our neighborhood has had a swim team.  Tyson decided to join swim team and we couldn't be happier.  He learned to swim last summer.  We thought swim team would be great way to sharpen his skills and teach him new strokes.  He has done great and it has been so much fun to watch.  It also keeps him active, with practices every morning at 9 and meets every Saturday.

 Ready for his first meet!!!

Buddy's own personal cheerleaders.  It was at least 105 degrees in the shade that evening and these two great ladies came out to cheer him on.

BACKSTROKE!!!!  This is his best event!

Three 2nd place ribbons!!!  Not bad for his first swim meet!!!

Vacation Highlights

This is the last vacation post, I promise.  Over all it was 5 days of family fun.  And we can't wait to go back!  I'll keep it brief........

We spent one day at the "Lazy River" pool.  The kids loved relaxing on the big tubes while they floated along the river.

Next we tried the indoor pool.  Tyson thought the slide was pretty cool!

After the lazy afternoon on the lazy river we decided to check out Table Rock Lake and ride on the paddle boats.
 And some lake swimming!

Next up:   a nice dinner at the Worman House.

Every night there was a giant campfire along with s'mores.  So obviously we partook in this event EVERY night.  My kids DO NOT pass up giant marshmallows and chocolate!

When I said kids I meant my family.  They all love a good s'more!

What do you do after you stuff yourself silly with s'mores?  You go for a night swim of course!

 some fishing.......

The next day Tyson did a "kids camp" adventure day where he did bb gun shooting and archery.
That meant we got a little one-on-one time with Emmy Grace.  She totally loved having our undivided attention.  We asked her what she wanted to do and she choose swimming at the infinity pool.
Our last full day at Big Cedar was upon us and we started it with a delicious breakfast outside at the Truman Cafe.

After breakfast we headed to play some miniature golf.

 and some shuffleboard

then back to the pool to swim all day...... we ordered pizza for dinner.  Nothing beats pizza poolside!

Thanks to my wonderful hubby for a fabulous vacation!  Without his hard work we couldn't take these special family trips.  We appreciate you so much!!!!

Vacation, part 2......playing "tourist"

Although we were staying in a beautiful resort outside of Branson we decided to venture out and check out the Branson strip.

First up:  Ride the Ducks!

We rode these bus/ boat things (they actually used these Ducks a long time ago in the military to go from land to water).  Bet they never thought they'd be charging for tours of Branson on these.

Before we boarded the duck we loaded up on snacks and cold beverages.

Nothing like a GIANT icee before we get a look at Branson's finest.....

AND every one gets their very own duck caller!

After we toured Branson on land we headed for Table Rock Lake.  This is the view from my seat on the Duck.

Emmy even got to "drive" the duck herself.

And you can't go to Branson and not see a show.  We choose to see Dixie Stampede based on lots of friends recommendations.  We heard there were lots of animals, fire and really good food.
Checking out the horses before the show.

Some how Em always manages to find the tackiest things to try on in the gift shops.  Guess it's a talent.
The show was very entertaining and we dined on a delicious southern 7 course meal.  The kids loved watching and cheering for the South!

After the show we took a walk down down Branson Landing and checked out the shops.  It was then I realized that my boys were twinkies.

Love these two and loved being a "tourist" with them!
