1st Grade Christmas Party

Of course I wasn't going to miss my Buddy's first party at his new school. They actually call it a CHRISTmas party here, not a "winter" or holiday" party. We had a great time. They got to decorate gingerbread houses. And Tyson was all over it. He'd frost his house a little then take a taste of the icing, then he'd skillfully place some candy on the house then quickly stick an extra gumdrop or Skittle in his mouth.

such concentration

So glad I was able to part of his day!

This is Mrs. Litsch. She's great and just adores Tyson. She's a fabulous teacher and I feel like we hit the jackpot in the 1st grade teacher department.

Em's Christmas Party

Em really enjoyed her Christmas party, you would never have guessed she's only been there two weeks. Her class and teachers have really embraced her. And for that I am so thankful.
waiting patiently for her gift, not really.....she just about tackled the little boy in the green shirt when he got in front of her

Mrs. Brandi has been so sweet and loving with Em.

Mrs. Stephanie and Em have a special bond, she absolutely loves Em's sense of humor.

She was so proud of the gift she made for me.

A few winter pics.......

My Christmas tree is only up once a year, so you better believe I'm gonna take FULL advantage of any and ALL photo opps in front of it.

Merry Christmas 2010!!!!

Where have my South Texas babies gone?

We've lived in Oklahoma now for a little over 4 weeks and it took my kids all of 2 days to acclimate themselves to the cold weather. To say they love it is an understatement. You would never know by the look on their faces that it was below freezing outside. They spend every day after school playing outside even if it's 30 degrees with a 20 something windchill. It doesn't seem to phase them at all. They just keep adding layers......hats, scarves and gloves. They love it!!! As for me, I can't drink enough hot tea and I live in my ultra warm boots.

An Oklahoma "must see" for kids

When we moved to Oklahoma every one we ran into told us we had to take the kids to the Omniplex. Well we took them last weekend and had such a good time. There was so much to do and see. It was full of "hands on" displays for the kids. Each exhibit was full of facts and anyone that knows Tyson knows he loves science facts. We bought a pass and plan to go back many more times.

Em was striking a pose next to the big tree

Astronaut Tyson

They both seemed pretty fascinated by the hot air balloon

Tyson really enjoyed the flight simulator. He asked if we could get one, we explained all he has to do is become a pilot and he can do a lot of that.

Emmy in a cockpit..............really pretty scary.

Paul could have stayed at the old planes and vintage bicycle exhibit all day.

We were there for three hours and still didn't see and do everything. I see a return trip in our near future.

Some photo opps just can't be staged.....

My little "mini me"

No jammie pant jokes, it freakin COLD here, so what if my fleece pants have snowmen on them.....it's festive!

Impromptu Movie Night

When I told the kids the Christmas shows were coming on TV I had no idea it would turn in to an "event!" Suddenly they were making me rush around and pop popcorn and unroll sleeping bags before the shows started. Can't you guys just watch the show like regular kids?

Apparently not.

Nothing cuter than coordinating camo sleeping bags.

For the record, I bought those before we moved to OK........had no idea we were moving to the camo capital of the world.
