Family, Food and Fireworks

I think we've started a tradition with mom and dad.  They like to come visit over July 4th and do 4th of July festivities with us and our friends.

We got up super early and sent the guys to stake our perfect parade viewing location, ie: some grass, preferably some shade and not to far from parking.  Meanwhile I made plenty of pigs in a blanket and wrapped them in foil for some breakfast.  Sherri made cinnamon rolls.  We knew we had about an hour to kill till the parade started so we figured we'd let the kiddos eat.

The parade was so much fun.  After it was over we all went home to get some rest, go for a swim then a cookout with the Henson's at our house. To be followed by some late night fireworks.

4th of July was a blast and loved spending it with friends and family.  Can't wait for next year!

Happy Dad's Day 2013

Father's Day was low key this year! I asked Paul what he wanted to do to celebrate his day.  And he replied with, "I just want to stay home, chill and have a nice dinner with you guys.......and maybe wash your car."  Well, I jumped all over that.  I made him a triple chocolate cake and dinner.

Then.......... this crew washed my car!

And oddly enough with ALL of this help, it took a couple of hours to finish.

Happy Father's Day to my hubby!!!

School's out for summer 2013

School's out for summer!  Que the song from Dazed and Confused circa 1995.  Anyway.... these were taken the last day of school.

Clearly they weren't excited at all!

Summertime and time for the pool............where we will spend every day till the end of August.

Tyson turns 9

Well a lot has happened since my last post........ birthdays, holidays, vacations, parties, get-togethers, school may have ended for the summer (although now it's about to start) new jobs, etc......
I honestly have no reason for not posting other than I think I have just been busy enjoying summer with my kids.  Let's pick up back in May after the kid's baptism.

Tyson turned 9!  Holy cow my baby boy turned 9!  How did this happen?!?  This year I told Tyson we should try to keep his birthday celebration small, maybe just a couple kids and some laser tag.

So my plan for just a couple kids turned into about 10, a couple games of laser tag, several pizzas and a giant cookie cake.  But it was a fantastic birthday and I couldn't be more proud of the little man my nine year old has turned into.  Happy Birthday Buddy!  I love you more than words!
