1 fish, 2 fish.......

My kiddos have definitely become "one" with the water this summer, if the sun is up than chances are you will find them in it. We have spent at least 90% of our summer break in a swimming pool and they basically live in their swim suits. These pictures have been taken over the last five weeks.

Life

I was recently reminded of just how precious life is as I attended a funeral of 3 year old little boy. A good friend of mine lost her son in a tragic accident about 2 weeks ago and I haven't been able to stop thinking about their pain.

I have spent the last six months being pretty angry that my mom has cancer, instead of being happy that it's in the process of being cured. I guess my point is that I need to start living in the moment and appreciating EVERY thing I have. Each day with my family is a gift and I need to be thankful for those gifts.

I love these two little faces and I am blessed to have them in my life!

Much needed visit with the 'rents!!!

The kids have not seen my parents since Christmas and have been asking to see them since January. I think the expressions on Tyson and Emerson's face say it ALL!!! This pic was taken about 2 minutes after us pulling into their drive way. Talk about capturing true emotion!

Gotta give Grandpa some love too!

Mom looks fantastic and no one would ever know she's sick. What breast cancer???

An absolutely wonderful visit with my parents. We spent the entire time just "hanging out" and relaxing. We hadn't even gotten out of their street yet and the kids were already asking, "when are we going back to Grandma and Grandpa's?" We told them if they were "good" for the nine hour drive back home we would make another trip before schools starts again.

They were little angels!

Catching up with old friends......

We decided to take a little road trip to Del Rio to see Mom and Dad, but first.........we had to spend a few days in San Antonio.

First Stop after hotel check-in: Wendy's House

We spent the evening catching up over a few glasses of wine. I hadn't seen Wendy since I came down for Mom's surgery in March. It was great to hang out.

The kids jumped right back into the normal swing of things and played and played and played.

They have all gotten so BIG! I keep thinking about Emerson and Max's first few play dates. Those consisted of two babies sitting in Bumbos looking at each other while Wendy and I drank coffee.

Next Stop: Jeri's House for fajitas and margaritas

We had a fabulous time! The guys cooked out while Jeri and I drank margaritas in the air conditioned and the kids ran around like crazy. Some things NEVER change.

Tyson and Colton have been buddies since Kindergarten. They are just so stinking big now!

Final stop before heading to DR: JoLynn's house for pizza by the pool

These three had so much fun. They played, they ate and they swam. Just like old times!!!

It was so great to see our friends while we were there. I only wish we had had more time to see every one. These ladies have been such great friends to me. It's has been a rough last six months and I'm not sure I could have gotten through them without the support from these girls. Their phone calls, support and prayers have been life saving!

Memorial Day Weekend Celebration

When I say Memorial Day Celebration I really mean ALL weekend celebration. We kicked off our holiday weekend with our neighborhood picnic at the pool. However, since the pool had literally just been filled the DAY before......yours truly was NOT getting it. It was COLD!

I opted for enjoying the yummy food instead! And so did my family.

There were tons of age appropriate games for the kiddos.

Tyson LOVED the "Minute to Win It" games!

Then we spent Sunday at our neighbor Tyler's family's house. They have a pool and it was a little warmer than the neighborhood pool. The kids had so much fun and so did the adults, we ate pizza and snacked on chips and queso.

Chilling on the chaise lounge!

We wrapped up our holiday weekend by spending actual Memorial Day at Sherri's house for a cookout with more neighbors.

She had a kiddie pool set up........ironically only Tyson (the biggest kid) enjoyed it.

Great long weekend filled with friends, neighbors, and lots of FOOD! I love my neighborhood!!!
