Poor Emmy Pooh......all of this potty training business is hard work. I walked in the living room and this is what I find. At least she took her glasses off before she passed out on them.

Neighborhood Easter
Our neighborhood HOA put together the first annual Belmont Farms Easter Egg Hunt, and it was a huge success! Living right across the street from the HOA president I had no choice but to be part of the planning committee. All week long people dropped off filled plastic eggs at my house for me and a few neighbors to hide. We had two different hunts, one for pre-school age kiddos and one for older kids. Fortunately we did the egg hunt on Saturday, since it rained all day Sunday.
I know, more baking........it's what I do!
As if Easter sugar cookies weren't enough I decided to create some cute Robin's Eggs Nest cupcakes. They were super cute and super easy. I've outlined the steps with help from my sous chef:
Last, you frost them, sprinkle some grass (coconut) and drop a few mini Easter whoppers on top.
First, bake cupcakes....any kind, they can be from a box.
Second, tint about 2 cups of coconut green (we used 2 drops green, 1 drop yellow). Mix it in bowl, stirring until desired color then bake in a 250 degree oven for about 15 minutes or until dry.Last, you frost them, sprinkle some grass (coconut) and drop a few mini Easter whoppers on top.

Just plain cuteness
I know I've said it before but I have to say it again, I have the BEST neighbors!!! Cathy who lives right across the street from us made this bunny apron for Emmy. She said she was so proud of her wearing her glasses AND learning to use the potty that she deserved something special. I was truly touched! Cathy and Dave don't have grandkids so they treat Em and Tyson like their own grandkids. Tyson will take over baked goods and they tip him, Em draws pictures for them and they put 'em up in their house. Really really sweet people.
Baking with my bunnies
I sort of have Easter blahs this year, so a little baking with my kiddos usually can get me in my happy place. This is the first Easter EVER we haven't spent with my parents. I guess I need to accept that we moved and it's just not a quick trip up here for them. I'll get used to it........it's just going to take some time.

BIG steps for my little girl
Not only is she doing great in gymnastics and wearing her glasses daily without taking them off (except for her weekly gymnastics class), she has also began using the "potty." Almost 2 weeks ago she informed me she "went tee-tee in the potty" at school. And has not gone in her diaper since. Emmy proved my theory, my kids just potty train themselves when THEY are ready. With Tyson I felt pressure from friends and family to get him potty trained immediately. With Emmy, I had no problem ignoring the unsolicited advice in regards to potty training my little girl. When she's ready, she's ready!
Another school year, another class field trip
I was fortunate enough to chaperon Tyson's class field trip again this year. We took a visit to the Edmond Safety Village then followed that with a picnic lunch at Mitch park.
My favorite part of volunteering with Tyson's class is that I get a first hand look at Tyson in his element with his friends. He has really made a great bunch of friends, you would never think we moved here less than 5 months ago.

5 whole days.......
It's been 5 days since Em got her new specs. It's been an adjustment for sure, but she has done really well with them. She takes them off for important things like bath time, bed time and jumping on the trampoline(for the last I am truly grateful)-- just because the glasses are tiny, that sure doesn't mean they have a tiny price tag . Today she wore them to school for the first time and her teachers said she kept them on all day and seemed to enjoy all of the attention that came along with her new purple specs.

Lacrosse, take 2
Tonight was our second game. And since the winds were not blowing at 60 miles per hour and it didn't feel like 20 degrees outside like last week, I decided to take some pictures.
The player........
The warm-up......
The coach.....
The fans.....
The game.....
We're not keeping score but I'm pretty sure we lost. It's ok thought, the kids had fun and my Tyson did great.
