An evening with Friends

and I will miss you guys!!!

I am sure going miss Jolynn!!! Words cannot express how lucky I am to be able to call her my friend. There aren't too many people I can call and ask to pick up my sick child from school who is throwing up. And I should mention it was Jolynn's last day of freedom.......it was the kids last day of Mother's Day Out. And she can throw one heck of a "going away" party. Truly a great friend!!!

Wendy. Wendy. Wendy. Where do I start? I can still remember being at Chik-Fil-A 5 years ago hanging out in the play area watching our then 18 month old kiddos play, and this chatty brunette started talking to me, she had just moved here and didn't really know anyone or where stuff was. I had no idea what the future held for us........playgroups, second pregnancies, beach house vacations, girls nights, sleepovers, ranch house weekends, and LOTS and LOTS of memories. Love her!!! She's already planning a road trip with the boys to come up to Edmond in the summer.

I met Jeri last year, but we became close this summer. Her son Colton and Tyson are buddies. We have really enjoyed hanging out with her family. Jeri is so much fun to be around! I will miss her tons!!! I know we will stay in touch. Her family is also planning a trip up to OK to visit us.

Some of my favorite girls!!!

The guys! Paul has also formed some good friendships with Greg and Shea.

These ladies take me back to a different life. They were my first friends here in San Antonio, only because they had to be......they worked for me. I was their new pregnant manager at the bank and had just transferred from the Dallas region. A little over 6 years ago I met Shawna and Mary Lou. We've stayed in touch and been friends ever since.

After my materninty leave I transferred to a different banking center and these ladies worked for me there. Rubi and Karen and I quickly formed a bond. I love them.

Then there's Jill. Jill and I both graduated from the same high school and ran into each other at Pei Wei four years ago. We had no idea that each other lived in the same city. We both had 2 year old boys, and right there an instant friendship formed. Jilly is a great person and I will miss her!

Jenn and Mom came too, it was nice to have family there. Dad couldn't make it because he was going to Rangers game and the Rangers playing in a World Series trumped my "going away" party.

My other half. I'm ready to jump into the next chapter with you!

The Suite Life

isn't always so sweet!

We've been in our temporary one bedroom suite now for11 nights and 12 days, but who's counting?!? The first few nights were kind of fun for the kids but now the fun is definitely starting to wear off. I often find myself telling the kids to go out in the hall and race to the trash can. Luckily we have had so many invites for after school play and dinner with friends, that has helped break up the monotony.

they watch a lot of TV

a little bed hair

container o' fun

they do A LOT of reading and art......but note their faces, a lot of those looks too

Only about another 10 days. I think we can make it. One thing I know for sure, our new house will seem HUGE by comparison.

Friday with Friends

After a LONG week it was so great to unwind with good friends Friday night. We ate some delicious burgers and did a little pumpkin carving.

I'm pretty sure that's the first smile I've seen on him all week.

She always smiles.

The boys. It was hard to get pictures of Tyson and Colton, they were running all over the place.

Jeri let me use her kitchen to make a cake........I was having withdrawals. I needed to bake something.

The gang with their finished product..............even little Kinley made the picture.

"they took their first steps right there....."

After Paul and I spent most of day cleaning the house, attacking each room once the movers had emptied it I thought I should snap some pictures of our final product.

Both my babies learned to sit, crawl and walk in this living room

My kitchen. It wasn't fancy but it was my favorite room in the house. There were a lot of yummy things created in there.

My dear friend Jolynn kept the kids for us in the afternoon so we could finish up with the house but they wanted to come see it all empty. They were so excited to run around an empty house and listen to their voices echo.

Yesterday........................

might have been one of the most emotional days I've had in a LONG time. Yesterday was the day that this whole moving thing became real. Yesterday was the day the movers came to pack up the house. Yesterday I realized that one family can accumulate quite a bunch of unnecessary junk. Yesterday was the first time I cried about moving. Yesterday I went to the doctor because I thought my head was about to explode, turned out I had a sinus infection and an ear infection. Yesterday was tough.

Pumpkins with my favorite Punkins

I think I might like Pumpkin Patch pictures better than Christmas pictures. I just LOVE the orange! And my kids actually enjoy taking pictures with pumpkins!

Now we can't take a picture of Em without her going into "full on model pose."

Mom and Dad came with us too, even Mom snapped some good photos.

I absolutely LOVE these next two pictures.
I think Mom looks so pretty and so does not look her age.

and I love this one because my two guys just look so handsome and so genuinely happy!

German Chocolate Cake and S'mores

For as long as I can remember, my Dad's favorite cake has been German Chocolate. So for his birthday I baked him.......none other than a German Chocolate cake. I had invited Mom and Dad to come over for the weekend, so we could celebrate Dad's birthday...... a little cake, a little dinner, a little grandchild time. What could be better?

How 'bout s'mores with a bunch of kiddos?

We invited our dear friends The Posey's over for some s'mores and Pumpkin Ale. Obviously the Pumpkin Ale for the grown ups and some lemonade for the small people.

They kids had a blast running around in the dark with flash lights and throwing sticks into the fire pit. Oh yeah, and they devoured a WHOLE LOT of s'mores too.

Everyone was having a great time until a possum decided to crash the birthday party. That little rodent had the ability to clear a backyard in seconds. The women ran, the kids screamed and the men took off after it with a BB gun.

Good Times!

Happy Birthday Dad!
