As soon as the weather cooled off I knew Paul would plan a camping weekend for him and Tyson. Unfortunately, this last Saturday was a little warmer than the week had been. None the less, they still had fun. Tyson and Ethan played in the river until the sun went down. They made hot dogs on the fire, had smores for dessert and played and played and played. Tyson said his favorite part was reading books with the flashlight before bedtime. As they laid there listening to the crickets and looking at the stars Tyson said "this is so peaceful Daddy." Big statement for a little guy.

Boys Night Out, Girls Night In---part 2
Camping was "awesome!" Those were the words from Tyson's mouth after they got home. Paul decided to take Tyson camping on Saturday. Mike called and said him and Ethan were in. And mine and Wendy's conversation went something like this......"Slumber party Saturday night?" "Sure what time are you and Max coming over?" So while the guys roasted marshmallows and hot dogs we put the little ones to bed, drank wine and watched girlee movies. I think we had more fun. The guys may think different.
Tyson was so amped to go. They didn't leave till about 4 on Saturday, he had that backpack and camera bag on since about 1:30. A little anxious???
dinner out with Max and Emmy, a little shopping, a couple of chick flicks and a bottle of wine.....the makings for a perfect girls night in!!!

Game #2 Highlights
This morning the boys had their second game. It was earlier so it wasn't AS hot as last weekend..........but let me assure you it was still hot. They played another great game. Tyson wasn't nearly as nervous this time and seemed to enjoy himself more. Either he was really in to the game this time or he was just excited about going camping after the game (more to come on that adventure later).
Tyson's #1 fan.....who also learned the fine art of climbing the bleachers today, oh well..... it was just a matter of time.

Boots
Today was a little chilly and rainy. The perfect day for Emmy to wear her new boots. I was at Target last month and happen to breeze passed the little girls shoes, and there right before my eyes were the cutest pair of chocolate brown faux Ugg boots I had ever seen. And the fact that they were on sale for $14 made them that much more spectacular. Even though it was still over 100 degrees outside I knew Em had to have a pair. So I bought them and then began building her fall/winter wardrobe around them. And Paul thinks I'm home doing nothing while the kids are school.

For a Brief Moment in Time.......
Just when these two think no one is watching them. Surprise, Surprise, they're actually nice to each other. They were playing "nap mat." I don't know. I'm assuming it means Emmy gets her nap mat and Tyson fishes his out of the back of his closet and they pretend to sleep. Whatever it was, I felt the need to document this moment in history since they will be fighting with each other within minutes.

Emmy Have No Fear
Each and everyday my Emerson continues to amaze me with her fearlessness. Heights do not scare her. The unknown doesn't frighten her. And falling is just a temporary setback for Em. I guess I was so used to my Tyson who was always so cautious and careful. I never had to worry about him climbing too high or trying to slide down the big slide. I should also mention that Tyson attended the same preschool Em is at for almost 3 years and never came home with as much as a scratch. Em has been there two weeks and I have already had to sign an accident report on her because she collided heard first with an other child then fell face down onto a tricycle busting her lip and causing her nose to bleed. Seriously?!?!

New size 1 1/2 cleats....$25, new pants....$12, YMCA fee ....$141, the feeling I get when he's up to bat.....PRICELESS
Today was Tyson's first tee ball game of the season. He was a little nervous, but he did GREAT! What a difference a year makes! These kids played so well. No one ran the wrong direction or tried to tag their own player and no one even took the bat with them to 1st base. These were just some of the comical errors from last season. I really LOVE watching Tyson play, I can't help it.....I get so excited when he gets up to bat! Don't even get me started when he actually fields a ball and throws it to first base. I am such a sports mom!!! Tyson likes it, but he is just so serious and nervous. If he would just relax, he could have so much more fun. This was just game one, seven more to go.

A Fine Dining Experience
I thought I would surprise Tyson on Thursday and take him lunch. I got there about ten minutes early so I could watch him on the playground. I really enjoyed seeing him play and interact with the other kids. Lunch was interesting too. I must have opened at least four juice boxes, a few milks and even a Thermos. I watched a few kids pick their nose, one dropped his food and a couple cried. Ahh....nothing like lunch with six kindergarten classes at 10:45 in the morning.
note the healthy lunch of a cheeseburger, apples with caramel and a nice cold chocolate milk
This is Tyson's friend, Jackson. They were also in the same class last year for Pre-K.

Ready, Set, PAINT
I thought today would be a great day to expose Em to watercolors, washable that is. So I put some "painting" clothes on her, handed her a brush and she was on her way to becoming a a mini Picasso.
Tyson has been playing with markers, crayons and paint since he also was two. In those three and a half years he has NEVER painted on himself. I was making dinner while the kids were painting. All of a sudden I hear Emmy say, "that good, Emmy paint Emmy's leg.....so pretty!"
